Hi! My Name is Alicia
I have always been into visual art since I was a small child. Growing up, my parents would often find me at the kitchen table, creating whatever drawings or paintings my tiny heart so desired. I was the type of kid growing up that would rather stay inside and create than play outside with kids my age. During school, I used to make small drawings in the margins of my assignments much to my teachers’ annoyance. My first experience in digital art did not come until I was a junior in high school. That year I took a multimedia art class and learned how to use programs such as Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. It was that class that sparked my interest into digital art and graphic design. So much so that I started looking into pursing graphic design as a career. After graduation, I decided to stay close to home and attend Macomb Community College, and I enrolled into the Media and Communication Arts- Design and Layout program. That was where my eyes were opened and my passion for graphic design was ignited. I saw for the very first time just what I could do with graphic design and was taught valuable skills that will help me in this ever-changing industry. And the rest is design and layout history.
